  Running multiple home based businesses can be a great way for you to achieve the freedom you have always wanted. Many people fail to take full advantage of the perks offered by having a home based business. Having your own home based businesses can make you extremely wealthy. Wealthy is not being rich, they are two different things. Many focus on just becoming rich when in fact being wealthy is what you should strive for. What is the difference between the two? Simple being rich is measured in money and being wealthy is measured in time. A majority of the time this is completely false. See a majority of the time when people make more money their expenses go up and they are right back to where they were when they first started. The only difference then is they are making more money. This is what I call focusing on being rich. When you hear people brag about how much money they make or have, you have to remember it only tells half of the story. Let me give you a little example.

  Let’s say Tom was making $50,000 dollars a year working for XYB company. Tom’s expenses were around $65,000 a year. Tom figured if he could get a raise at his job, all of his financial problems would be solved. Tom finally got his raise, a whopping $150,000 dollars a year at XYB company.

  As soon as Tom received his promotion he felt like he had to keep up with the times and he realized the taxes were pretty high for that bracket. So he decided to buy a big house and a nice sports car. Before Tom knew it he was back to living in debt. He was spending $200,000 a year and only bringing in $150,000 a year. He was back to the same place he was before, so like most people he figured he needed a another bigger raise.

  Now is the typical lifestyle many people today are dreaming about. What is wrong with this? Everything is wrong with this. What were to happen if Tom were to lose his job? Due to company downsizing or if his job were to be exported overseas. Tom would be done and would most likely have to settle for a huge paycut working somewhere else. If you don’t believe me visit your local unemployment office.

  Now if Tom were wealthy he would not have to worry about this. Your wealth is determined by this, if you were to never work another job again, how long could you live your current lifestyle with the money in your savings account or the income from your assets? If you could only live 6 months without working then your wealth is only good for 6 months. I’ll let you in on a little secret, the reason why the rich get richer is because they spend their time building assets which produce money for them. So they never have to work for money.

  Building a home business is a perfect example of building a valuable asset for yourself. Many people have no assets what so ever, all they have is a job. Many people consider their house an asset because they can save money on taxes by owning a house. This is completely false because your house does not produce an income. And for those of you who want to make over $170,000 working a job, well the government takes the tax benefits you would normally receive while owning a house.

  If you truly want to become wealthy it is simple build assets for yourself. Reinvest your money into more assets and let your money work for you.

Products without credibility might work in the short term but any business you may be able to generate on the promise of “serious money to be made by passing them onto the next sucker” will quickly dry up and disappear. If what you’re being asked to buy and sell is hollow and insignificant – run, do not walk away because chances are the opportunity also lacks long-term creditability.   Of course there is another side to asking you to do your due diligence before joining. If I contact you, give you my pitch and you jump in immediately without wanting to check it out, chances are you’re going to be high maintenance pain in the butt. So it’s not all about you after all.

  MENTORING MATTERS. To have even the slightest chance of survival, you absolutely must align yourself with others who are already successful in this business. If you can’t do that, your chances of success plummet like Enron stock prices. You will absolutely need the experience of a mentor or preferably a team of mentors. Don’t be shy about questioning your sponsoring consultant on what they and the company can offer you. When you research your company, check to see what training is available. All legitimate direct sales companies offer regular training (usually by phone) so ask to join a training call. Try your absolute best to learn the culture of the company you’re possibly about to join. If the training is fluffy and unprofessional – keep looking because you’re probably onto a loser.

  Holiday Gift – When most people think of the holidays they think of the time starting around Thanks Giving and ending right after the first of the year. Through my years in the gift industry I have found that there are a lot of other holidays or celebrations that occur all year long. Besides New Years Day and Martin Luther King Jr. Day we also have a few wacky and unique celebrations that occur in January.   Now if you are a person who likes to celebrate the wacky and unique holidays here are a few gift ideas for you. For Jump Out of Bed Month you could use slippers or sneakers as your gift basket for example.   Get Rhythm In Life & Business 

  I was listening to Johnny Cash the other day and heard the words “Get Rhythm, When You Get The Blues” in a song. While you may quarrel with my choice of music, the message is key to success in life and in business. Rhythm may be defined here as a system or flow of the things that you do in different areas (work or play) or the overall organization of your life. Or you could define rhythm as something that goes on inside of you to give you the bounce in your step, or a certain swagger. It could even mean that you play or listen to some great music to replace the woes in your mind.

  Robert Kiyosaki, in his Rich Dad series, stresses the importance of having a business system to create wealth. A business system is something that can pretty much run on autopilot for much of the time. The business system removes you, as the owner, from the day to day tasks that must be done to make money. This frees up your time for longer range planning, pursuing new ideas, networking, and even family & recreation activities. Without a business system, you would have to be working the business to make money which is more like having a job than a business. Many stay at home internet marketing business’ are great systems. Starting at about an hour per day, the business can be on-line and making money for the whole 24 hours of the day. Choices have to be made on how to spend your time on the business. For example, I could hire someone else to do article writing for me but it is something I enjoy so I do it. As we set up and build our business system, we need to deal with the problems and move on. It is important to acknowledge what went wrong, be it a poor decision or outside influences and learn from it thereby avoiding an encore. So the focus is to move ahead with our business system. And actually, it you do get rhythm and put on some great music, no matter how you feel, that feeling will improve. You might even dance around and develop the swagger.

  It’s the biggest mystery on the internet. Everyone wants to open an online business. Everyone has a great idea. Everyone has a sure-fire strategy for success. And in many cases, they go out and build impressive websites around their idea. They include features that make the site sticky, drawing visitors in and inviting them to browse around. The graphics are slick and the layout beautiful. Java and Ajax make the browsing experience smooth and seamless. But in the end, no one shows up.

  The vast majority of websites never get much of any traffic. Of course, this should come as no surprise. There are millions of different websites, even within a single topic, and there’s no way for the average internet browser to find one specific website without some help. And that’s what this article is about. What can you do as an online entrepreneur to identify yourself to the masses and help them find their way to your website? More importantly, what can you do to achieve that objective with little or no money?

  That last sentence is the most important one so far. We all know the pay-per-click options exist and our hard earned money can quickly and easily drive traffic to your website. Well, as it turns out, there are some other options available that can drive just as much traffic and won’t cost you a penny.

  The first strategy is encompassed by this article you’re reading. I wrote this article and posted it to the internet for free. Nobody’s paying me a penny. I took the time to write is all down because I know how to post it to thousands of different article directories quickly. And at the bottom of this article is a short bio with some brief information about me along with my website address. That means everyone who reads this article has the option of clicking through to my website directly. It’s called article marketing and it’s one of the best strategies for driving website traffic.

  The second strategy involves posting comments on popular industry forums. Once you register with a forum, you can post comments within any topic you can find a string for. Your profile usually allows you to create a signature and that signature can include your website address. Once again, you’ve leaving behind a direct link to your website every time you post a comment. And as such, I would post as many comments on industry forums as you possibly can – perhaps as many as 15 or 20 comments each day.

  The third strategy is to post comments on popular blogs in your area of expertise of beginning a blog of your own. If you post comments on a blog for 10 consecutive days, I can almost guarantee you that someone is reading your posts. It just happens. People find stuff and you can quickly gain an audience by creating a blog. And of course, you can revert to posting comments on someone else’s blog. You can always leave behind a direct link to your site when you do so.

  The forth strategy is to make your website easy to bookmark with any one of the many social bookmarking sites that have emerged during the past year or so. It’s the new craze and sites like StumbleUpon or Boing Boing or Digg can quickly drive traffic to your site if the content you’re providing is appreciated by others. Adding the appropriate buttons and links only encourages that process.

  Driving internet traffic doesn’t have to be a mystery. It doesn’t need to be a secret. And there are lots of things you can do to get plenty of organic traffic landing on your website. In most cases, it doesn’t cost any money. It just takes time. And if you can allocate the time, you’ll be amazed at how quickly it will also start happening. Good luck!
